Weaving is one of the earliest of humanity's technological achievements. However, the materials from which people wove, all natural, quickly degraded and disappeared. This is why the German company REHAU developed polyethylene all-weather wickers. These modern wickers, made for our more laid-back times, come in different styles - looms and flat webbing, ribbed or leather effect - and natural colors reminiscent of ones those ancient weavers would instantly recognize. Different weaving styles have been used in the many wicker pieces found throughout the MAMAGREEN collections, the effects ranging from the rustic and rural to the city and contemporary.
The material is exceedingly resilient , seeing off extremes of hot and cold, wet and dry, with no deterioration whatsoever. The colors do not dim with the years and wicker's imperviousness to water ensures that the wicker material maintains its strength and structure. As well, wicker is completely safe to be on or near for everyone in the family, thanks to its non-toxic character and lack of any sharp edges. The REHAU production team is fully aware of the company's environmental responsibilities and all this wicker is made to the highest standards of eco-friendliness.
Cleaning your wicker furniture is a breeze. Wash with warm soapy water and lightly brush between the weaving lines if needed, then rinse with clean water. Make sure not to use a brush with harsh bristles, particularly those of metal.
