Textured Garden Planter
Texture does much of the visual work on the Cassia Planters, giving simple plants a richer container backdrop. This set by Campania International brings an Asian Inspired look to patios, garden entries, courtyards, and indoor spaces. The hand formed terracotta surface adds depth, making the planters easy to place within contemporary or traditional settings. They also work well across different planter styles when varied height and repeated planter designs are part of the layout.
The Cassia Planters come as a set of 4, with sizes including 24″DIA x 18″H at 80 lbs, 20″ DIA x 16″H at 56 lbs, 15.5″ DIA x 14″H at 34 lbs, and 12″ DIA x 10.5″H at 18 lbs. Made from natural clay terracotta, each piece is high fired at 990 to 1000 degrees centigrade for durability and tested for freeze thaw performance with proper planting and care. The graduated sizes make it easier to build depth along a walkway, soften a seating area, or create a coordinated planting look. Traditional kiln firing and artisanal production give the set natural variation in texture, color, and finish.
For a more composed garden scheme, the Cassia Planters can be mixed with other Asian inspired planters that share a calm, grounded character. The broader bowl shape of the Hoi An Planter, the low profile of the Low Zen Bowls, and the simpler curve of the Garden Bowl give nearby options for varying height, width, and planting style.

Glazed and terra cotta planters are hand-made from natural clay using traditional artisanal techniques and high-fired at temperatures between 990-1000 degrees centigrade to ensure frost resistance and durability. Glazed planters are coated with natural glazing elements that are baked onto the surface to enhance the product’s resistance to weathering.

The artisanal process and traditional kilns used to manufacture our handmade and hand-glazed containers create planters of unique beauty and character. This traditional craftsmanship offers a rich variety of textures, colors and finishes which will enhance any contemporary or traditional design project. Additionally, most of our outdoor glazed pottery can be used in the design of custom water features. For quality control, these natural clay planters are rigorously tested in freeze-thaw conditions. Our Glazed and Terra Cotta pottery is appropriate for use indoors and outdoors with proper planting and care in regions where freeze-thaw cycles exist.

Care & Maintenance
Care & Maintenance
Terra Cotta planters can be cleaned with mild soapy water. Spray down the surface of the planter where it is dirty and use a lint-free cloth, soft bristle brush or sponge to wipe the surface. Note that it may take several cycles of wiping and drying before the planter is completely clean. Do not pressure wash, use alcohol based cleaners, apply corrosive cleaners or clean with anything abrasive.
There is no such thing as a 100% frost-proof planter. The freeze-thaw cycles that occur in winter will cause any water in the container to freeze and expand which may cause the container to crack. It is best to store the item in a dry place out of the elements. Our Glazed and Terra Cotta planters are equipped with pre-installed drainage holes to allow for drainage. The drain holes must be kept clear to maintain the longevity of your planter, especially in climates that undergo freeze thaw cycles in the winter. If you are unable to bring a planter out of the elements: We recommend covering the drain holes with a mesh screen or equivalent to keep debris from clogging the openings; Filling the bottom of the planter with non-porous drainage material; Filling the remainder of the planter with a well-draining soil mix that will not retain water; and lastly, covering the soil with decorative mulch or pine bark to the top rim of the planter to discourage water from pooling on the surface.
