Modern Cubed Planter

The Metropolis Cube Planter uses a crisp cube shape to give shrubs, grasses, and bold foliage a clean architectural frame. It also pairs naturally with the Metropolis Rectangle Planter for mixed geometric layouts, or with the Aspen Square Planter and Geo Square Planter for related square planter options.

The Metropolis Cube Planter by Campania International is available in 30″L x 30″W x 30″H at 155 lbs, 36″L x 36″W x 36″H at 195 lbs, and 48″L x 48″W x 48″H at 435 lbs. It is made from lightweight GFRC, a Portland cement based composite reinforced with moisture resistant glass fibers for added flexural, tensile, and impact strength.

Built in drainage supports exterior planting, and the GFRC construction is made for four season outdoor use. It can stay outside year round, tolerate UV exposure, handle high heat, resist frost and thaw cycles, and avoid corrosion from soil contact. The material also replicates the look and feel of cast stone at a lighter and manageable weight.

Material Options

Portland cement based composite material with moisture resistant glass fibers randomly dispersed throughout the material.The fibers serve as reinforcement to enhance the concrete’s flexural, tensile, and impactstrength. The glass fibers used are high zirconia alkali resistant. GFRC is manufacturedusing the spray up technique resulting in a wall thickness of approximately ½” (tolerance +/- 1/8″). The high compressive strength of our GFRC results in a frost proof, thaw proof,rust proof, and fire proof material that meets the standards for commercial use.

Designed to be durable in 4 season exteriors, with water drainage built in. They may be left outside year-round. GFRC planters are frequently specified for rooftops and terraces, hospitality, large scale public space installations and custom projects. Our GFRC replicates the look and feel of cast stone at a significantly lighter weight. They are a great choice for jobs that do not allow for heavy-weight materials and where large scale plantings are required. Because of their lighter weight, GFRC planters are easier to ship and material handle on the job. GFRC planters can withstand UV exposure and extreme temperatures,
from high heat to frost and can tolerate the seasonal thaw cycles. Additionally, they won’t corrode due to exposure or direct contact with soil.
