Most cataloged sizes are made of 14 gauge steel, and 11 gauge aluminum. Custom items are engineered to use the appropriate material, and shop drawings will be provided prior to fabrication. Corten and Mild Steel products are preweathered, and arrive with a surface coat of rust on them. Aluminum will not rust, and the powder coated finish has a 3 year limited warranty. Both Steel and Aluminum fabricated products have a 5 year warranty on their structure.

Powder coated products should be inspected regularly for soil and other accumulated grime. These contaminants should be removed periodically – when the surface is cool –by gentle washing with a soft cloth and mild, soapy water, followed by rinsing with clean water. Natural rust patina requires little maintenance. If cleaning is required, a low pressure water rinse is the only recommended treatment to minimize damage to the patina appearance. Please note that transfer of the color from the rust patina may stain other surfaces. Zinc patina is susceptible to stains and cannot be cleaned with solvents, abrasive cleaners, or scrubbing of any kind. Light rinsing is the only recommended cleaning treatment to avoid disturbing the appearance of zinc patina.

I love this fire pit. I had it installed during my new home construction and it is exactly the unique piece I was looking for to add some style with good functionality to my outdoor living space. I have this installed on a Trex deck. I confirmed with both the Trex deck distributor and the fire pit manufacturer that there would not be any safety or fire hazard by installing this fire pit on the Trex deck. It looks exactly as it appeared in the online catalog. It is very easy to turn on and off. It does create a nice ambiance and it generates a lot of heat. It is much more convenient and cleaner than burning logs but of course you do not get the nice smell of real wood burning nor the crackle of the real fire. I love the look of this fire pit. I spent several weeks browsing online to get ideas for a gas fire pit I could use on my deck. I was almost ready to give up because I was not finding any I liked but then I found this one. This square design is unique and with all of the options for color of the fire pit and color of the fire glass (if you choose glass instead of lava rocks) it gives you the opportunity to customize this to fit your outdoor space. I definitely recommend it. I did not install it myself so I cannot comment about the ease of installation for anyone planning to do it yourself. The HVAC installer ran the gas line to the fire pit and performed the installation for me. But I did not hear of any specific complaints or concerns from him so I assume it was a smooth installation. Before I placed the order I had questions and I contacted Yard Art. I actually was able to speak with someone involved with building the fire pits, not a customer service representative. He was able to advise me on questions I had about the finish options and what would be best to meet my needs. I was quoted a fairly long lead time of several weeks because these are built to order, but it arrived over one week ahead of schedule. Overall I am happy with the fire pit and the service I received from Yard Art.
